September's high temperatures started out above normal, then cooled off a bit. During the middle of the month, the temperatures rose then cooled off, then rose once again by the end of the month. The month's high temperature was 90 degrees, which ocurred on the 14th and was eight degrees from the record. A new record was made on the 28th of 98 - the old record was 92 set in 1967. In all, the high temperature was about two degrees higher than usual. The low temperatures were just about normal. The middle of the month was a little below normal. No low temperature records were set.
We recieved 1.01 inches of rain., about half an inch below normal. This is the fifth month in a row since February that we have received below normal rainfall. There were no record setting days of rainfall this month. Even with the shortage of precipitation, we are still above normal from where we should be this time of year. The 2002-2003 water year had no shortage of rain when the end of the 12 month period ended.
