July's high temperatures quickly became much higher than usual. Then they became seasonable for the middle of the month, and ended a lot warmer than usual. A record of 101° was made on the 30th, beating the previous 1898 record of 99°. Two ties were made on the 29th and 31st. Both were highs of 99 and tied with the 1998 and 1992 records, respectively. The low temperatures jumped around a lot throughout the month. Several times the low temperatures were normal, especially at the end of the month. No low temperature records were set.
We didn't recieve any precipitation this month, while we normally get about half an inch. This is the third month in a row since February that we have received below normal rainfall. There were no record setting days of rainfall this month. Even with the shortage of precipitation, we are still above normal from where we should be this time of year. The 2002-2003 water year will have no shortage of rain when the end of the 12 month period comes around.
